Rola and Yemi's AH!Mazing Spring Wedding PT1

Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting a very interesting couple; Rola and Yemi. When we met up, Yemi, the groom, did most of the talking. In this business you know that is quite unusual, most grooms just want to know what the bill is and typically I am introduced to just their signature on the checks. LOL. Anyhow Yemi who is a "DC Rat" (he just loves DC) told me the vision for the wedding and when he told me their venue - Andrew Mellon Auditorium, I was completely thrilled. We were going to be coordinating as they had chosen certain vendors before our meeting, however I was still excited to work with them.

As I got to know them better, I realized why Yemi did most of the talking. He is an outgoing, fun loving and completely determined guy who loves him some Rola!!! He wanted everything perfect for his beautiful bride. Whatever Rola wanted, she most absolutely per Yemi had to have, including the Bentley Phantom. Nothing was too whimsical, out of the ordinary and oh yes that "E" word, expensive for his bride. Which is why he wanted her to sit back, relax and enjoy the most wonderful day of their lives.

This wedding was truly beautiful and I am glad to say we were part of it.

Ok so we are BLOGGING now!!!!!

Hello Blogger world!!!! I am so happy to be blogging and talking about what I love most in the world; Event design, Flowers and ALL things beautiful. Well before I go on let me introduce myself, my name is Adebola Ayoteju Akhionbare but hey just call me "Addie" or "AJ" as most of my friends call me. I love designing, decorating and obviously ALL things weddings.


I have been at this now since 2006 and boy oh! boy!!! have I learnt so much and I am still learning. There are so many talented people out there and I am glad that there is no shortage of creativity. Our blog is going to be featuring our creations, but also amazing work from other vendors that we love, admire and honor their talents.


We have incredible weddings and events this year so watch out for some major weekly eye candy. This month we have an Urban Chic Wedding on a Boat, An Opulent Romantic Affair in the City and A Moroccan Enchanted Garden at a Villa. I am soooo excited I can't help myself. LOL.

Also since this is our reLaunching/Birthday month, we have major things lined up.
We will be giving away "Birthday Gifts". Its so much FUN!!!! We have the couples massage from Robert Andrews, the diva spa treatment @ Red Door, the ultimate goodie basket from FAB Designs and of course our personal favorite; a romantic dinner for two at the hot new restaurant OYA DC. So watch out for more details.

Oh wow I am getting so excited about the relaunch of our blog and website. I am excited because finally we have an avenue to reach out to potential clients, get feedback from prior clients, provide more inspiration to current clients and most especially NETWORK with amazing vendors in the industry.

Yummy Pinkk ... Delish!!!!!

Garden Pick

Whenever I get a client and they tell me what they are "thinking" for their event, I try to create a theme so that I have an "inspiration board" to work from. I had a client this weekend we were creating a bouquet for. Of course spring is in the air and her colors were blue and white and I immediately thought about hydrangeas, delphiniums and tulips. A beautiful spring garden overflowing with blue flowers.

Rola and Yemi

So this weekend, we had the honor to coordinate the beautiful wedding of Rola and Yemi. This is a couple that didn't leave any stone unturned for their event. We are glad to have been a part of their incredible day. It was absolutely beautiful, Rola looked STUNNING and Yemi was too happy to look anything else but good. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait to see their wedding album. Well we here at BCG say CONGRATS, Rola and Yemi. We wish you all of marriage's joy and bounty.

WHITE HOT PINK!!!!!!!

Now everyone knows I love PINK!!!!! If I could I would do every single event I have in pink. LOL. Just Kidding. But pink just has a way of exuding beauty. You can't go wrong with it.

So ...... we were at the Carriage Bridal Showcase last month and for our first ever Bridal Showcasing, I wanted to do something unique, fun, beautiful and of course PINK!!! And inspiration is such bliss. This design was aptly named WHITE HOT PINK. Pink flowers in varying shades ; from blush dendrobiums, to hot pink roses, we fused all things pink into this design and and then kept it clean with the white palette. This wasn't your drab white and pink decor. This was so chic, beautiful and elegant. I'll post more pics but these are just a few to wet your appetite.
