How to Thursdays: What is Your Wedding Style Part 2

Helllooo Everyonee!
Welcome back to another wonderful Thursday!

Last week we really dug into color selection. We talked about what certain colors represent and how they can look in an event design. We also talked about how important it is to have a good event designer that can bring together ANY colors you choose, in order to achieve that LOOK and that AMBIANCE that you want for your special day. So today we are going to talk about those two things and how they factor into selecting your wedding STYLE.

The LOOK

So ask yourself what kind of person are you? Take a poll amongst your closest friends and colleagues and ask them how would they describe your personality? Your fashion style? Your home decor? You will end up with a long list of adjectives with words such as funny, flirty, bubbly, serious, chic, outgoing, quiet, life of the party, reserved, etc. These words are very important in choosing a wedding style because you want your wedding to represent you and your fiancee. Are you a flashy couple that likes bling, or are you a more reserved couple that likes simple things? When meeting with your event designer it's important to know what you want your wedding to LOOK like based on your personalities and the type of event you are looking to have. For instance if you say "I want my wedding to be lavish, posh, elegant, and classy" you may end up with something like this...

Now if you say, "I want my wedding to be lighthearted, fun, flirty, and simple" you may end up with something like this....

It is very important to be clear about your wedding style because these examples are total opposite ends of the spectrum. So take the time and think now about the personality traits that you and your fiancee have, and then begin to translate that into what you want your wedding to LOOK like.

The AMBIANCE

You may think isn't this the same as the way it looks, but no it's not. The ambiance is moreso the way your wedding will FEEL for your guests. DO you want them to feel like they are at a Grammy or Oscar party rubbing elbows with V.I.P's or do you want them to feel like they are being whisked away into an enchanted forest or do you want them to feel like they are at a comfortable family function just reminiscing with aunts and uncles? The ambiance can fall in line with the THEME  of your wedding, because the theme will set the overall look and feel of the event. Some people choose to have themes some dont. But the ambiance can go hand in hand with your wedding theme. It's all up to YOU. Decide how you want your guests to feel and make that clear with your wedding planner and event designer...here are some pics that set very distinct ambiances.

So as you all can see there are soooo many different ways your wedding style can go. The most important thing is that your wedding style reflects YOU and YOUR FIANCEE! Do not allow other people to sway you from what you want your wedding style to be because it seems "different" or "unconventional". All you need is a good, reputable event designer and the sky is TRULY the limit!

How would you describe yourself? How do you think your friends would describe you? How do you think that would translate into a wedding style? What do you want your wedding ambiance to feel like??
Talk to me guys! I want to know what you guys are thinking about!

My friends will definitely tell you that I'm very picky and my style is a bit edgy and not too simple. I definitely do not want my wedding decor that is too over the top. I want a very clean and classic wedding with a little bit of Hhmph lol.
